Edelweiss extract

In the Alpine countries, proffering an edelweiss flower from the difficult to access rock faces of the mountain used to be considered proof of love.

Nowadays, we also know the astonishing effects of its rare constituents. Edelweiss grows in the Alpine regions at altitudes of over 2000m and is capable of repairing defects caused by UV radiation. This is thanks to a mixture of active constituents containing high levels of tannins, flavonoids, phenylpropane and hydroxycinnamic acid derivates such as chlorogenic acids which have an antioxidant effect. In addition, edelweiss extract has an oxidation-inhibiting effect and the capacity to bind free radicals which damage the skin.

Normally subject to nature conservation, edelweiss is cultivated in the Alpine regions with the help of organic farmers and meets Bio Suisse Organic Standards and fair trade principles.
